Phantom Abyss is a game where players dive into a series of procedurally-generated temples where they have to reach the end and secure the golden idol. Players will be faced with a wide variety of classic traps along the way, as well as facing off against the Guardian of the temple who will try to hinder the players progress.

Essentially, don't expect Phantom Abyss Speedrun to find a revamped or a completely new Phantom Abyss experience with this 1.0 update, because that isn't what this is. Instead, what you'll find is simply an upgrade and slight improvement to various aspects and parts of the entire framework that constitutes what Team WIBY created in the first place.

However, the temple's rooms are, for the most part, easy to clear with a single grapple at a time, and more often than not, Whip Again is simply a luxury to have.

The 1.0 launch will deliver a completely overhauled Adventure Mode, giving you a choice of temples to explore, each with a specific whip, relic, and series of challenges to overcome. We will also be introducing the new and improved core experience with Abyss Mode, previously called Classic Mode, which challenges players to enter a temple and progress through all four areas within and collect the relic at the end.
